The director of soL magazine, Hafize Kazci, has been sentenced to a prison term of 11 months and 20 days over alleged insult to President Erdogan.
The penalty was based on a news article of last year, where a public statement of a youth organization, was quoted. The statement was published upon a speech of Erdogan where he targeted university students as “terrorists and atheists” and responded him, “we are leftists, and you are a thief”.
The lawyers of the soL magazine are preparing to appeal to the verdict.
