The metal workers will not give in to the strike ban

Statement of the Communist Party, Turkey, 30.01.2015

Party of the bosses ran to rescue of the bosses
But the metal workers will not give in to the strike ban

The strike which was started yesterday by the Birleşik Metal-İş (United Metal Workers’) Union with the great support and enthusiasm of the workers is stopped by the Cabinet for “National Security” reasons. Workers will give in to neither the bosses nor the AKP government, which is a security threat for not only the country but also the humanity.

The metal strike which started yesterday with a great enthusiasm at tens of factories in various towns, notably in Gebze, is stopped by the Cabinet decision.AKP concluded that the strike was so as to “violate the national security”.

This is the fake reason of the ban. Last year, glass workers’ strike was also suspended for the same reason by the AKP government.

They are scared...

The scare of the Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries (MESS), which is the number one organisation of the 12 September fascist coup, is the same as the scare of the AKP, which is the child of the 12 September. They are scared of the working class to rise for their right and the future. The strike was threatening the comfort of the capital dictatorship!

AKP, with this decision, proved once again that it was the party of the capitals. The metal strike, which started as effective as to crack the MESS, put the bosses in a difficult situation. Threats of the metal barons were wrecked by the force of the worker’s organisation and determination. The government willy-nilly ran to the rescue of the panicked bosses.

But their efforts are gainless. Workers uprising for a better future and a humanly life will never give up. Birleşik Metal-İş Union and its members, thousands of metal workers, were not alone in their strike and they will not be alone in their struggle against injustice as well.

The capitalist system will certainly be defeated.
