Supreme Committee of Elections confirms Communist Party participation in elections

On February 01, The Supreme Committee of Elections (YSK) had published a list of political parties entitled to participate in the general elections, which did not include the name of the Communist Party, Turkey. The unjust omission of the Communist Party was due to misinformation provided by the Supreme Court. Upon the appeal of the Communist Party, YSK confirmed the entitlement of the Communist Party to participate in the elections.

The legal department of the Communist Party is now preparing to file an appeal to postpone the date of the general elections. The reason for the appeal is that February 10 was the deadline for the civil servants to resign for candidateship in the elections.

Upon the result of the appeal of the Communist Party, Turkey, the calendar of the general elections may change.
